About This Tour
Highlights of the Tour
Sela Pass: Sela Pass is more than just a picturesque tourist spot; it is a site of immense strategic and cultural significance in India's northeast. Historically the only route connecting the Buddhist enclave of Tawang to Tezpur and Guwahati, it carries echoes of the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
Tawang War Memorial: Nestled among the majestic peaks of the Himalayas, the Tawang War Memorial is a beautifully designed monument built to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Army soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Designed in the shape of a traditional Buddhist Stupa, the memorial is a solemn yet deeply peaceful place.
Madhuri Lake: Officially known as Sangetsar Lake, this breathtaking high-altitude water body is popularly called Madhuri Lake after Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit shot a dance sequence here for the movie Koyla. Nestled amidst rocky mountains and lush valleys near Tawang, the lake is famous for its surreal and dramatic beauty.
Bum La Pass: Located at a staggering altitude of over 15,200 feet, Bum La Pass is an exhilarating day trip from Tawang that takes you right to the Indo-China border. Covered in a thick blanket of snow for most of the year, the journey to the pass is as thrilling as the destination itself, featuring rugged terrains, frozen streams, and pristine alpine lakes.
